What is Traineeship Plus?

Traineeship Plus is an education and training programme for young people  designed to help them to become work ready, the programme  incorporates work experience for those whose preference is to find a job or apprenticeship. Traineeship Plus aims to support young people to develop their confidence, skills and experience to provide them with the best opportunities to gain employment or further learning opportunities, including apprenticeships.

The Traineeship Plus programme is a county wide, 18 week programme and includes a work placement of a minimum 70 hours work experience in an area of interest to you.

Whilst on this programme trainees will also be given the opportunity to achieve qualifications in English, math and employability.

To join this programme, young people must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Aged between 16-24 years old or 25 years old with an  Education Health Care Plan (ECHP) 

Demonstrate a keenness to learn and show they want to develop their skills to support their own progression into employment, apprenticeship, or further training and education. 

Have achieved a Grade 3/D GCSE in English or Math or below (non GCSE qualifications) will be considered on an individual basis 

A level 3 qualification or below
