A whole organisation approach to safeguarding
Hampshire Achieves, including all partner adult and family learning providers, must consider how the whole of their organisation can implement safer working practices, environments and policies. A safer learning environment is more than safer recruitment of staff, and it is also more than protecting children and vulnerable adults from harm. These are both vitally important, but should be seen as part of the overall strategy and processes to promote an ethos of well-being, safety and security, which applies to all learners and all staff.
Learning providers have responsibilities to ensure the safety of children and vulnerable adults.
We have produced a range of safeguarding guidance for all staff at centres who come into contact with children and families in their everyday work.
Hampshire County Council is committed to the highest standards of openness and accountability and takes malpractice seriously. All workers have a right and a duty to report concerns of malpractice that are in the public interest. This policy defines the framework for reporting and investigating whistleblowing concerns.
Hampshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (HSCP) is a statutory body that leads on keeping children safe and ensuring their wellbeing in the local authority (LA) area of Hampshire. The Partnership includes local agencies who work together to make sure that child protection services in Hampshire are effective and keep our children safe.
Staff are required to attend mandatory 'Basic Safeguarding Awareness Training' when they first join Skills and Participation and then refresh their Safeguarding and PREVENT training every year.
